Hot & Cold Top Load Water Cooler - 500 Series

Top loading coolers are easy to set up with no plumbing or complicated parts. Since the water bottle is visible, you can always see how much water is left, so there’s no surprise when the jug runs dry.

Many Brio top loading models include advanced features like tri-temperature dispensing (hot, cold, and room temp water) and UV self-cleaning. They work with both 3- and 5-gallon bottles and require very little maintenance, making them a smart choice for garages, kitchens, and workspaces.

It depends on your needs. Top loading coolers use gravity for water flow, so they’re budget-friendly. Bottom load models use a pump to move water up to the heating and cooling reservoirs, so they’re a little pricier. Choose the one that suits your preferences.

Yes, regular cleaning is essential. Wipe the outside of the unit every week and deep clean the inside every 3-4 months with a solution of vinegar, bleach, or citric acid. Baking soda helps with tough buildup. Follow your manual for specific instructions.

Both types of water coolers use 3- or 5-gallon bottles of water, so they don’t need a plumbing connection. In top loading models, the bottle is placed upside-down, and gravity moves water down to the spigot. They need electricity only for heating or cooling water, so you’ll still have water during power outages. They’re affordable and easy to use, although positioning the heavy bottles can be challenging.

In bottom loading water coolers, the bottle is stored in a lower cabinet and uses a pump to move the water up. They’re easier to reload and have a less cluttered look since the bottle is hidden. Many models include tri-temperature water (hot, cold, and room temp) and are self-cleaning, and some feature built-in filtration.

If you’re looking for simplicity and value, a top loading water cooler might be the right choice for you. If you want more features, a bottom loading cooler might be better.
