Frequently Asked Questions

We've included a list of FAQs for a wide variety of categories.

What does a 3-stage water filter remove?

A 3-stage system provides an additional layer of protection compared to a 2-stage filtration system. The first filter catches sediment like dust, silt, organic matter, and rust. Next, a GAC (granular activated carbon) filter helps reduce chlorine, odors, cloudiness, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), and other chemical contaminants. Finally, a carbon block filter removes any trace of impurities and improves the taste and clarity of your water. These three filters provide refreshing water that’s ideal for drinking, cooking, and brewing your coffee or tea. It’s a smart choice for families or workplaces that want consistently clean water without the need for constant maintenance.

How often should I change the filters in my Brio bottleless cooler?

To keep your bottleless water cooler running smoothly and your water crisp and clean, replace the filters every 6 to 12 months. However, when to replace filters depends on how much water you’re using and your local water quality.

Some Brio models have built-in alerts that tell you when to change the filters. You can also subscribe to Brio’s filter service, which automatically delivers new filters every 3, 6, or 9 months

Should I buy a 2-stage or 3-stage bottleless cooler system for my home or office?

Choosing between a 2-stage and 3-stage bottleless water cooler depends on your water quality, usage, and preferences. Both provide clean, filtered water, but a 3-stage system delivers an extra level of purification for improved taste and safety.

For home use, a 2-stage bottleless water cooler is an excellent choice if you have treated municipal water and just need to remove sediment, chlorine, and odors for better-tasting water. If your home has older pipes, higher chlorine levels, or water with an odd taste or smell, you might want a 3-stage bottleless water cooler.

For offices, a 2-stage bottleless water cooler is a good choice for low-traffic areas, depending on the level of filtration you need. However, a 3-stage model may be better for multiple users since it filters more contaminants and handles higher water demand.

What maintenance is required for 2-stage and 3-stage bottleless water coolers?

Maintaining your bottleless cooler is easy. Most importantly, be sure to replace filters on schedule, usually every 6–12 months, depending on usage and water quality. Brio’s filter replacement indicator (on select models) will notify you when it’s time to change them. You can also subscribe to Brio’s filter replacement service for automatic deliveries.

Unplug the cooler before cleaning and drain the reservoirs. Clean them with a food-safe sanitizer or mild vinegar solution and wipe down buttons, nozzles, and the drip tray with a damp cloth and mild soap. Remove and clean the drip tray regularly to prevent buildup, and sanitize the internal components every 6 months.

Many Brio coolers have UV sterilization or ozone self-cleaning. Activate these features as recommended for low-maintenance hygiene.
