Let’s start from the very beginning. When rain falls from the sky and onto the ground, it passes through dirty rocks and soil. The water then dissolves the minerals present in the soil and absorbs it. These minerals remain in the water if left unfiltered. Some minerals like calcium and magnesium are beneficial to leave in your water supply. However, several other harmful minerals like mercury and lead may be difficult to spot in your regular drinking water, making it hard to tell if your water is unsafe. A range of other dangerous pollutants such as toxic algae, lead, rust, chlorine, and general dirt can also be found in unfiltered tap water.
Our Brio water coolers are compatible with a variety of filtration systems so that you can feel confident in your hydration supply. The filtration system aims to provide water in a clean yet natural state, allowing healthy minerals such as calcium, potassium, and magnesium to stay within your water.
- Brio 2-Stage Advanced Filter System
Stage 1: Remove dirt, rust, and dust
Stage 2: Removes chlorine, tastes, odors, cloudiness, colors, VOCs and other chemicals
This set includes two stages: the activated carbon filter and the sediment filter. These filters will not eliminate the healthy solids and salts, but will remove rust, chlorine, and other contaminants. The two-stage system will also eradicate heavy metals like lead and mercury, chlorine-resistant cysts like giardia and cryptosporidium, organic chemicals like herbicides, pesticides, and VOCs, and pharmaceuticals like estrone and ibuprofen.
The set powerfully filters 0.5 gallons of water per minute for instant access to crisp and clean water at your convenience. The two-stage filter is very simple to use, so it is a breeze to remove and replace on your own in about 10 minutes.
Note: This filter set only requires a water source, not a drain line.
- Brio 3-Stage Advanced Filter System
Stage 1: Removes dirt, rust, and dust.
Stage 2: Removes chlorine, tastes, odors, cloudiness, colors, VOCs, and other chemicals.
Stage 3: Finalizes and removes finer pieces of contaminants.
The Brio three-stage system includes sediment, pre-carbon, and post-carbon filters. The extra carbon filter further enhances filtration, ensuring that the taste is amazing. No drain line is needed for this system as well.
The multiple stages of filtration remove common contaminants like rust found in tap water. Like the two-stage filter process, this filter will also leave solids and salts like calcium, potassium, and magnesium and dissolve heavy metals like lead and mercury, chlorine-resistant cysts like giardia and cryptosporidium, organic chemicals like herbicides, pesticides, and VOCs.
- Brio 4-Stage UF Ultrafiltration Filter System
Stage 1: Removes dirt, rust, and dust.
Stage 2: Removes chlorine, tastes, odors, cloudiness, colors, VOCs, and other chemicals.
Stage 3: Further removes finer pieces of contaminants.
Stage 4: Removes residual tastes and impurities from the water.
The main difference in the three-stage versus the four-stage filter set is the addition of the Ultrafiltration step.
Ultrafiltration is a process that filters water by pushing the water molecules through a membrane. Ultrafiltration filters out the solid particulate matter on a microscopic level.
This membrane is a thin layer of material capable of separating the harmful materials from the healthy ones in your water supply. A driving force is applied across the membrane and pushes harmful solutes out while retaining solids and salts. Ultrafiltration Is similar to reverse osmosis, with the difference lying in the size of the molecules that are eradicated. Ultrafiltration will filter out the vast majority of contaminants like sediment, chlorine, and cysts. This filter system is also helpful for eradicating finer contaminants.
For people who want to retain minerals like calcium and magnesium in their water, ultrafiltration has the advantage. Drink confidently knowing that other contaminants like rust, chlorine, lead, mercury, chlorine-resistant cysts like giardia and cryptosporidium, chemicals like herbicides, pesticides, and VOCs are free from your drinking water with this filter system.
- Brio 4-Stage Reverse Osmosis Filter System
Stage 1: Removes dirt, rust, and dust.
Stage 2: Removes chlorine, tastes, odors, cloudiness, colors, VOCs, and other chemicals.
Stage 3: Further removes finer pieces of contaminants.
Stage 4: Removes residual tastes and impurities from the water.
Reverse osmosis filters water through a pressure system that pushes contaminated water through a membrane. While moving through the membrane, reverse osmosis eliminates most of the dissolved minerals in the water. Many people prefer this because they want their drinking water as clean as possible, and entirely free from minerals, salts, and healthy total dissolved solids like calcium and magnesium.
With the four-stage reverse osmosis system, you will notice a significant reduction in rust flakes, sand grains, dirt, large cysts, other sediments and particulates, suspended solids, colloidal silica, pyrogens, large organic molecules, and undesirable taste, odor, color. If you are looking for water with a high degree of cleanliness, reverse osmosis is the best option. A Brio filter set is a perfect addition to any kitchen, ensuring your water will maintain a healthy level of salts and minerals while eliminating most dangerous contaminants.
Our filter sets are sold individually, however, we also offer a subscription service where you can save money and time by receiving new filters every six months. It’s a convenient solution to maintaining the quality of your water. Trust in your water supply with Brio filters so you can hydrate confidently.
