Do the SIMPL Tankless RO Systems create any wastewater?

Yes. Like all reverse osmosis systems, the Brio SIMPL Tankless RO Undersink Filtration Systems produce wastewater during the filtration process. However, its advanced tankless design produces less waste compared to traditional reverse osmosis systems.

Why are Brio SIMPL Tankless RO systems a popular choice?

Brio SIMPL Tankless RO Systems are popular for many reasons. First, their compact design, fast performance, and powerful filtration are a big draw. On top of that, unlike traditional reverse osmosis systems with storage tanks, SIMPL systems filter water on demand. You get fresh, clean water from the faucet every time.

Good looks and a space-saving design are also part of the appeal, but there’s much more. Most importantly, the four-stage filtration process removes a long list of contaminants, including lead, chlorine, fluoride, nitrates, and PFAS.
Bacteria, parasites, and even viruses can’t get past the tiny pores of the semi-permeable RO membrane. Plus, the tankless setup reduces the risk of bacterial buildup. SIMPL models are about the size of a desktop PC and leave plenty of space under the sink for kitchen essentials.

With built-in leak detection and easy filter replacements, Brio SIMPL is a smart, low-maintenance upgrade for any kitchen—no wonder it’s popular.

How exactly does a reverse osmosis system work?

A reverse osmosis system purifies water by forcing it through a semi-permeable membrane with pores only 0.0001 microns in diameter. The membrane blocks contaminants while clean water molecules pass through. Most systems include multiple stages of filtration, starting with sediment and carbon filters that remove
larger particles, chlorine, and bad taste.

The RO membrane filters various contaminants and dissolved solids, such as arsenic and lead. Finally, a post-filter polishes the water for a clean, crisp taste. Some systems also include UV or remineralization stages for added protection or better flavor.

This multi-step process produces water that’s much cleaner than standard tap water. RO systems are considered the most effective option for home use.

Does water filtered by reverse osmosis taste different from bottled water?

Reverse osmosis water has a cleaner taste compared to standard bottled water. By removing dissolved substances like minerals found in some spring waters, it has a neutral taste that’s perfect for hydration, coffee, tea, and cooking. And, since RO systems remove chlorine and chemical residues, the result is fresher-tasting water.

What does “pure-to-waste ratio” mean in a reverse osmosis system?

Pure-to-waste ratio indicates the proportion of filtered water produced versus the amount discarded. A 2-1 ratio means 2 cups of clean water for every 1 cup wasted.
